Care Ministry Connection

Clearly defined services that honor each person's needs, strengths, beliefs, values, preferences, and appropriate next steps.

Our holistic approach is trauma-informed and person-centered, recognizing the connection between mind, body, and spirit. We believe meaningful change and lasting wellness are supported by caring for the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms.

Services are tailored to each individual's unique strengths, values, talents, needs, and goals. When appropriate and with the individual's consent, we collaborate with qualified professionals and community resources to coordinate care, reduce barriers, and support emotional wellness, personal growth, resilience, and an improved quality of life.

Professional care, voluntary ministry services, and community support are provided through clearly defined pathways with appropriate referrals when needed.

Our Whole-Person Foundation

Mind Body Spirit

Healing Hearts coordinates care around what matters most to each Veteran—not solely around symptoms or health conditions. Participation is voluntary, and Veterans and caregivers remain active decision-makers throughout the care-coordination process.

Information is shared with participating providers or community partners only with the Veteran's authorization or when otherwise required by law.

General VA benefits education and referrals to VA-accredited representatives are provided at no additional charge. Claim-specific forms, stressor-statement development, evidence selection, claim preparation, and submission are handled by the Veteran and their VA-accredited representative.

Important service information

Screening tools are administered only when appropriate and within the provider's education, training, supervision, and authorized scope of practice. Screenings may identify possible symptoms, concerns, and support needs but do not, by themselves, provide a diagnosis.

Healing Hearts does not conduct VA Compensation and Pension examinations, independently prepare or prosecute VA disability claims, provide legal representation, or guarantee access to benefits or any particular claim outcome. Care-coordination fees are for navigation and support services—not claim preparation or claim outcomes.

Healing Hearts Serenity Sanctuary is an independent organization and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Why Does Spirituality Matter?

Meaning, purpose, connection, strength, and peace during difficult seasons.

Spirituality can provide meaning, purpose, connection, strength, and peace during difficult seasons. Research suggests that religion and spirituality may influence health, well-being, coping, and quality of life.

Spiritual distress may include moral injury—the emotional or spiritual struggle that can occur when experiences conflict with deeply held beliefs or values—as well as feelings of powerlessness, shame, guilt, disconnection, or meaninglessness.

Spirituality is personal. It may involve religious faith, connection with others, service, personal growth, nature, or a relationship with something greater than oneself.
